September Happenings

Mrs. Durand

While the weather has still felt like summer we at Stevens are off to a great start with the new school year.  Mr. Maziarz and I have been spending time helping students learn and remember daily routines from bus arrival and dismissal to lunch room habits.  It has been my pleasure to go into classrooms and read to some classes and get to know students better.  Students and teachers settled into the routine of school very quickly this year and we are so pleased.  Our teachers have been implementing our new math curriculum with students and our professional development at the start of the year as well as later this month will be spent planning and familiarizing themselves with the program.  I have spent the first month getting settled in and look forward to stepping forward as the point person for students and families in October.  Thank you to the entire Stevens family for such a warm welcome this first month.  My office and desk have been filled with cards and flowers welcoming me to the school and community.  I look forward to many great years here at Stevens!
